Chapter 5: 8
Temptations and their treatment (1)

God did not allow Lot to do whatever he desires, and in order to return him to the proper track, He dealt with him in a fatherly way. God does not abandon us or leave us when we drift away from Him as He knows how to restore our souls. The Holy Bible said about how God dealt with Lot: “The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations” (2 Peter 2:9)

Definitely there are losses if we drifted from the right way, even though our God is a loving father who loves the sinner, but He is at the same time Holy and does not tolerate with the sin. So we have to forfeit because of our sin. The divine principle says: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7).   Usually God deals with us to return us back when we drift away from Him.
God has done a lot of great deeds to Lot and He may do the same to return us to Him.

First: God warns and alerts Lot
After Lot has left his uncle Abraham and migrated to Sodom, a war exploded and a blockade occurred to Sodom and Gomorra for a long period of time, but instead of returning and admitting his mistake, Lot remained in Sodom. God warned Lot and gave him a time limit sufficient to get him out of Sodom, before the bitter war took place and the warrior kings won the battle and took its people with their possessions as spoils including Lot and his family. “And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way; And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.” (Genesis 14:11, 12)

It was a horrible day for Lot who was driven as a slave with his wife and daughters, bound in chains and in captivity going to North of Damascus. For sure he started to pray saying: “Oh God, get me out of this trouble and deliver me from the captivity and I will return to my uncle Abraham, and I will resume my fellowship with You. I’ll get back to the life of tent and alter.” May be he wept also during these difficult days.

That’s what happens to us, when we are tempted by the luxury of life and are drifts away from God; He may allow us to pass in turbulences to let us wake up, repent and return to Him. He could allow and use the troubles as a treatment to our spiritual weakness. “And will distress them, that they may find it so.” (Jeremiah 10:18)

Dear reader, if you are facing some difficulties, do not desperate or complain , but I ask you to come to the Lord and ask Him to declare and reveal to you the reason behind all these difficult situations you are passing through. These circumstances may be an alert or alarm to you and a call of love from the Lord to let you return to Him. Would you answer the call and come to Him?
