Whom shall I fear?!

Whom shall I fear?!
A short question, but it carries great meaning.
It is filled with faith and defiance, courage and victory, trust and hope.
But, is it really true?  Can someone today defy fear that has defeated millions? Is it possible, in these modern times, to overcome anxiety, to shout boldly: «Whom shall I fear »?!

I am confident.
The word is small, but contains many meanings.
It means the enjoyment of security and safety, assurance and serenity, rest and peace.
But is it possible for someone today, who thinks deeply about what surrounds him:  circumstances and events … changes and shifts … present and future concerns …
Can he say: «I am confident»?  Can anyone today, truly enjoy peace of mind, a clear conscience, tranquility of the heart?!

These strong and significant words: "Whom shall I fear" ... "I am confident" (free from worry, at ease, at peace), were sung by David in difficult and challenging days. This was his chant during war, at the coming of the army, at the rising of the enemy, in the approach of the wicked.  This is why Psalm 27 is a comprehensive Divine treatment for fear; it is a pleasant, strong, and beautiful hymn to defeat all the diseases of fear and anxiety.

We find the singer of this Psalm, the prophet David, suffering from many sources of fear:
He is a fugitive from the enemy, forsaken by his parents, slandered by evil oppressors, and expelled from the House of the Lord.  In spite of all this, he defies all the circumstances, as he says in faith:  «Whom shall I fear».

You will be surprised, dear one, when you find that these words, written 3000 years ago, have addressed the concerns of millions of people down through the ages. Now you too, can be healed from your fears, oh modern man!

It is a call to conquer fear, and defy anxiety, through faith.
You can sing with David, saying: «The Lord is my Light and my Salvation, whom shall I fear?! The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?”

It is an invitation to enjoy deep internal peace:  The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  True Peace is the gift of God to everyone who believes in Him. Just before going to the Cross, Christ Jesus promised His disciples His personal peace, saying: « Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.» (John 14:27).

As we go through Psalm 27 together, we will learn of:  the causes of human fears that terrify people, and methods of Divine safety that reassure the Believer.   We will also discover the Christian way of healing from fear and anxiety.  This is learned and we are trained through practical Biblical steps, and we will be liberated from fear and filled with peace.
